A business delegation of 20 Danish companies and organizations headed by Minister for Environment and Food Mr. Esben Lunde Larsen, participated at World Food India in November. The intensive program included conference, plenary sessions, sectoral seminars, B2B meetings, a Danish exhibition stand of 500 m2, site visit to Amul (Dairy manufacturer) and Big Bazar (supermarket), and networking dinners at the Danish Ambassador’s residence.
Key Note speakers at the Inaugural session of World Food India, were Prime Minister Modi, Indian Minister of Food Processing Industries Smt. Harsimrat Kaur Badal, and Danish Minister of Environment and Food Esben Lunde Larsen.
IDCC participated in seminars and debates on how Danish companies can support and meet India’s enourmous demand for solutions to improve their food industry and supply. After the Denmark’s country seminars, the speakers/delegates answered questions from the audience and got a lot of contacts and demand for B2B-meetings with potential Indian partners looking for new products, solutions or investment in joint ventures.
Participating Danish companies and organisations were: AAK, Aasted, A.P. Møller Mærsk, Carlsberg, Danfoss, EKF, ESS-FOOD, European Protein, Food Nation, FOSS, GC Rieber Compact, GEA Process Engeneering, Indian Danish Chamber of Commerce, IFU, Mille Food, Novozymes, Orana, Roskilde University, Viking Genetics, Vilofoss.
Another exciting feature of the WFI event was “Food Street” – a lively vibrant zone, which showcased Indian and foreign cuisines using Indian ingredients, flavors and fragrances. Denmark had two Chefs interpreting Danish classics based on Indian flavor, ingredients and styling – a huge success said both Danish and Indian guests.
More than 100,000 visitors came to World Food India exhibition, conferences and Food Street during the three days. See video highlights from World Food India 2017.
IDCC sees huge opportunities in the Indian Agriculture, Food and Food Processing Industry for Danish companies who can deliver innovative products and sustainable solutions to optimize production, crop yield, logistics, cold chain, quality, safety – and help India modernizing its food industry and reduce the huge food waste.
