Generation Z in the workplace in India

HR in India: Generation Z in the workplace in India

Agenda

  1. Who are generation Z and what do they want?

  2. Generation Z and India's demographic dividend

  3. Ways to keep generation Z engaged in the workplace

India's demographic dividend - the increased proportion of the population in the working age - is expected to peak in 2041 and persist until 2055. A significant part of this dividend is the generation Z - those born between 1997 and 2010 - of which 20% of the global population live in India. As such, they are a key demography to engage with going forward and is already being leveraged to address the growing tech talent gap in the country.

However, there are also generational clashes and gaps of understanding that can lead to frustration in the workplace.

We will use this session to get a better understanding of the generation Z in India - What are their aspirations in life and their expectations towards a workplace? What has Covid-19 meant for this generation's career start? How do we attract, retain, and not least motivate this generation?
