Generation Z in the workplace in India
India's demographic dividend - the increased proportion of the population in the working age - is expected to peak in 2041 and persist until 2055.
A significant part of this dividend is the generation Z - those born between 1997 and 2010 - of which 20% of the global population live in India.
As such, they are a key demography to engage with going forward and is already being leveraged to address the growing tech talent gap in the country.
However, there are also generational clashes and gaps of understanding that can lead to frustration in the workplace.
We will use this session to get a better understanding of the generation Z in India and discuss topics like; What are their aspirations in life and their expectations towards a workplace? What has Covid-19 meant for this generation's career start? How do we attract, retain, and not least motivate this generation?
Shared Services Centres – How to choose the location of your SSC in India
Shared Services Centres – How to choose the location of your Shared Service Centre (SSC) in India
Agenda
1. Overview of the current SSC landscape in India
2. Things to consider when deciding location for your SSC in India 3.
Experience sharing with peers
In a 2023 Deloitte report, India emerged as the most preferred location for Shared Services, followed by Poland and Mexico.
Part of why India is doing so well is the access to talent. However, with the success and the rising number of SSCs in the country comes a stiffer competition for said talent and challenges of congestion in cities such as Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai.
In that light, we see new hubs having emerged, such as Hyderabad and Pune, which also reflect the post-covid reluctance of talent to commute or even relocate for work.
New trends are emerging and so are the considerations to be made when setting up a SSC in India.
Join us for this session where members share their experiences on the ground.

Employer Branding in India: A Danish way?
The job market in India is tough - and many are struggling with both recruitment and attrition. While compensation remains the top-deciding factor amongst candidates, recent studies show a significant increase in the focus on ‘softer’ criteria, such as purpose, meaningfulness, supportive leadership, DE&I policies, work-life balance and more.
Many of these criteria are deeply rooted in the Danish way of doing business which presents an opportunity for Danish companies to differentiate themselves in the Indian job market.
Therefore, this session will focus on how IDCC member companies can leverage this position in the search for talent in India.
